Why Recovery Belongs on Your Training Calendar
Recovery sessions are often the first thing cut from a busy week — but treating recovery as optional usually shows up as a plateau a few weeks later.
Training creates a stimulus; recovery is where the adaptation actually happens. Skipping recovery doesn't just risk injury — it quietly caps how much benefit you get from the training you're already doing.
Practically, recovery doesn't have to mean a full day off. Lighter mobility sessions, structured breathwork, or simply an easier training day can serve as active recovery while keeping a routine intact.
Sleep remains the most under-rated recovery tool available. No recovery protocol compensates for a consistent shortfall in sleep, so it's worth treating as seriously as any programmed session.
